Central Bureau of Statistics for Klungkung Regency and Inflation

[Klungkung] - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Klungkung Regency as an agency that is not only tasked with providing quality data, but also in charge of fostering sectoral data for statistical data providers in Ministries/Agencies and is responsible for the analysis of the resulting data.

On this basis, BPS also plays an important role in regional inflation issues. This can be seen in the participation of BPS in the Regional Inflation Coordination Meeting (Rakor) held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) which was also attended by related agencies. The Inflation Coordination Meeting is held every Monday every week. It is hoped that this will continue to monitor the regional inflation rate so that it remains under control.

Based on the BPS concept, inflation is a tendency to increase prices of goods and services in general which takes place continuously. If the price of goods and services in the country increases, inflation will increase. Rising prices of goods and services cause a decrease in the value of money. Thus, inflation can also be interpreted as a decrease in the value of money against the value of goods and services in general. Therefore, inflation is very influential and plays an important role in the sustainability of the people's economy in real terms.

The participation of BPS in the inflation coordination meeting is a step taken by BPS in ensuring the quality of the data it produces and voicing the data that has been produced so that its meaning can be captured properly. Cooperation and coordination between the Government and Ministries/Institutions is also needed so that in the future it can produce policies and preventive as well as solutive steps that are right on target.
